Both under 11 boys teams had a much improved run out at this afternoon's Blitz Day hosted by Antrim. There were plenty of goals and even victories but most importantly, some great team performances. Well done boys and thanks to all the travelling support.....

Girls U11 Blitz Day Results

Congratulations to the U11 girls who put in a great performance today at the latest Blitz event. The team of 8 girls, along with their parents and coaches braved the cold weather to play 5 games.
A 6-0 win over Grosvenor C and a 2-1 win over Grosvenor B showed that the girls have made great progress since their first appearance at U11 level last season. The girls faced stronger opposition when they met their match in Portadown, Pegasus & Knock but managed to maintain an excellent standard making the opposition work hard.
Many thanks to the parents for bringing the girls to the venue, one girl even stepped off the plane at the airport minutes before, now that's commitment!!

Boys U13, U11 & U9 Blitz Day

The future is looking bright for the Ladies Club!

Sunday saw the U15s host a Junior Blitz day. The girls did fantastic, beating Ballynahinch 6-0 and Tullyvallen 7-1 on home turf. Lea Carson netted 6 in the two games, with Erin Aiken getting 5 and Grace Cotton, Jordan Turner and Erin Kerr scoring 1 each.

MINIS BLITZ RESULTS

Nine U11 girls took part today in the first of the Blitz days hosted by Grosvenor Hockey Club. As most of these girls had played last year they were keen to improve on last year's performance and they did not disappoint!

In their opening game they netted 3 goals against Belfast Harlequins, winning 3-0 (Gracie Lamont, Emma Fowler x2).

In the second game the girls were unlucky when Portadown B slipped a goal into the net in the final minute.

This was followed by two draws with Tullyvallen, 1-1 (Gracie Lamont) and Grosvenor, 1-1 (Abby Aiken).

In their final game the girls came up against a very skilful Portadown A team. The U11s worked very hard but the Portadown forwards were on top form. Final score: South 0-4 Portadown A

A fantastic start for the U11 girls, with coaches and parents delighted with their performance today!!

MINIS

100 plus primary school members and 12 coaches braved the rain for our 1st week back this morning.

Who said kids.... and parents were softer these days.
In true minis fashion it dried up quickly.

Junior Boys, U15s & U13s, start back on Thursday 10th September with a brand new coaching team. Note new time of 6.45 to 7.45 pm at Friends' School. Any new members will be made most welcome! For further info email youth@southantrim.com.
